Your institution may operate the platform on its own or subscribe to an annual maintenance plan. The plan typically begins when the 90-day warranty ends.
- New versions of AOKAI, including new artificial-intelligence features.
- Defect fixes and security patches.
- Priority technical support for your team.
The plan renews each year and can be cancelled with notice before renewal, as defined in the contract.
General conditions
These principles frame every AOKAI source license. The signed agreement is the authority for commercial detail; this page is an overview for institutions evaluating acquisition.

License grant
CODEXSW INC grants your institution a perpetual, non-exclusive right to use, modify, and operate the AOKAI source code for its own academic and administrative purposes. The license does not transfer ownership of the base platform.

Intellectual property
CODEXSW INC retains all intellectual property in AOKAI as delivered. Your institution owns the modifications, integrations, and extensions it develops. Contributions back to the base product, if any, are agreed separately in writing.

Data ownership and hosting
Institutional and student data remain the exclusive property of your institution and reside on infrastructure you control. CODEXSW INC does not host production data under a source license unless a separate hosting arrangement is signed.

Student privacy
When CODEXSW INC accesses student records during implementation or support, it treats them as confidential, uses them only to deliver the contracted work, and complies with applicable student-privacy law, including FERPA where it applies.

Confidentiality
Each party protects the other’s non-public technical and commercial information and uses it only as needed to perform the agreement.

Warranty
For ninety days after go-live, CODEXSW INC corrects defects in the delivered code at no additional charge. The warranty covers the software as delivered, not infrastructure you operate or third-party services you subscribe to.

Third-party services
Cloud providers, payment processors, email, search, and AI gateways are contracted and paid by your institution. Their terms, fees, and availability are outside the AOKAI license.

Governing agreement
Commercial terms — including payment, scope of work, and service levels — are set in the license agreement. If this overview and the signed contract differ, the signed contract prevails.
Nothing on this page creates a binding offer. Terms take effect only when both parties sign the license agreement.
